trial of three Chinese stowaways and three quarter-
masters.

We beg to call the attention of the Committee of
the Chamber of Commerce to the inadequacy of the
present Colonial Ordinance dealing with Stowaways,
which has been brought to our notice in connection
with the recent case of our Steamer "Kaifong".

shall be found on board any
*passenger ship with intent to obtain a passage
"therein without the consent of the owner, ohar-
*terer, or master thereof, such person,

every person aiding and abetting him in such
